Money Grab/Sell Trump products from the White House
Dan Scavino, who runs Trump’s social media, made $1 million to $5 million in 2025 on stock in Trump’s social media company.
— Dan Scavino, who runs Trump's social media, reports $1M-$5M in 2025 gains from Trump's social media company.
The White House deputy chief of staff’s financial disclosure, signed September 3, 2026, values his Trump Media & Technology Group stake at $1 million to $5 million. The White House counsel says he followed the ethics rules.
What happened
Dan Scavino, White House deputy chief of staff and director of the Presidential Personnel Office, reported $1,000,001 to $5,000,000 in 2025 capital gains from Trump Media & Technology Group stock. He valued the stake he still holds at the same range. The figures are on his annual financial disclosure, signed September 3, 2026 and released by the Office of Government Ethics in early October.
Trump Media runs Truth Social, the platform where Trump announces government decisions. Scavino has long managed Trump’s social media presence. He also reported $50,001 to $100,000 in gains from Robinhood stock; Robinhood is the Treasury’s broker for Trump Accounts and gave $2 million to Trump’s 2025 inauguration.
A White House official said Scavino bought the Trump Media stock before rejoining the government. White House counsel Will Scharf said, “we believe Dan Scavino complied with those requirements and have no further concerns.”
Who benefited
Scavino, who made at least $1 million in a year on the president’s company while working for the president. The record counts the $1 million low end in the crew’s pool, not the family’s cash.
Who wanted something
Trump Media, whose main product is the platform the president and his staff use to announce official decisions. The more the government speaks through Truth Social, the more the company’s stock is tied to the White House.
Who lost out
The public, whose government announcements run through a company in which senior White House staff hold seven-figure stakes. OGE certified the disclosure as compliant; the ethics rules allowed it.
Why it matters
The man who runs the president’s social media is paid, through the stock, by the president’s social media company. It is legal, disclosed and certified.
