What happened

45 Guitars sells instruments marketed as “the only guitar officially endorsed by Donald J. Trump,” at roughly $1,500 to nearly $11,000 for signed models. The brand launched in late 2024. Trump’s disclosure covering that year reported $1,055,100 from it.

Trump’s disclosure for 2025, released by the Office of Government Ethics on June 30, 2026, reported $35,920 from the “endorsement and promotional agreement” with 45 Guitar. That is a drop of about 97% from the prior year. The line sits on the same filing as $4.7 million from Trump Watches, more than $21 million in UAE licensing fees, and $1.4 billion from crypto, in a total of about $2.2 billion.

The money is paid to Trump personally for use of his name and endorsement while he is in office. The disclosure does not say how many guitars were sold, what share of each sale he receives, or who owns the licensee.

Who benefited

Trump was paid $35,920 in 2025 for lending his name to a line of guitars, on top of about $1.06 million the year before. The payments are personal income, not company revenue, for use of his name and endorsement while he is in office.

Who wanted something

The guitar maker behind the 45 Guitar brand, which the coverage does not name, paid for the right to market its instruments as the only ones Trump endorses. The record does not say it had any business before the government.

Who lost out

No public money is in this record, and the amount is the smallest in it. It is one line among many on a disclosure listing income from putting the president’s name on consumer goods. Even the small lines are paid directly to him.

Why it matters

A sitting president is paid for endorsing guitars. The 2025 figure is $35,920, after $1.06 million the year before. The line matters less for its size than as a sample of the pattern: watches, sneakers, Bibles, fragrances and guitars, all paying the man in the Oval Office by name.
