Meta settles Trump account-suspension suit for $25 million
Meta agreed to pay about $25 million to settle Trump's lawsuit over the suspension of his accounts after January 6, 2021.
What happened
The settlement, signed at the White House on January 29, 2025, called for roughly $25 million, with about $22 million directed to a fund for Trump's future presidential library. Meta admitted no wrongdoing. Trump's 2025 disclosure later listed the Meta payment as $24.5 million routed to the Donald J. Trump Presidential Library Foundation; because it went to the foundation rather than to Trump personally, it is not counted in the personal take.
