The administration sics the FBI and IRS on major foundations
NSPM-7 moves from directive to enforcement: a Dec. 4 DOJ memo implementing it directs federal law enforcement to prioritize investigations of antifa and groups deemed extremist. By March 2026 the FBI and IRS stand up a joint command center at the FBI, staffed with IRS Criminal Investigation agents, to investigate nonprofits over suspected domestic-terrorism links.
What happened
Bondi's Dec. 4 memo defines the targets by belief as much as by conduct: it describes domestic terrorists as using violence to advance agendas including "opposition to law and immigration enforcement," "extreme views in favor of mass migration and open borders," and "adherence to radical gender ideology, anti-Americanism, anti-capitalism, or anti-Christianity." The memo instructed all federal law enforcement agencies to scour their files for intelligence on antifa groups and forward it to the FBI.
Why it matters
